The aim of Rollercoaster Rush is to get your carriage from the start of the track to the finish without derailing it. Your only means of doing this is by tapping the right side of the iPhone to accelerate and the left side to brake. The scoring system is based on the happiness of the passengers on the coaster, and it fluctuates depending on the speeds you reach, loop-the-loops passed, jump heights, etc.

Graphics-wise, Rollercoaster Rush is pretty impressive. The rollercoaster physics are very realistic and the impression of speed you get from the animation is authentic enough to scare you a little. The sound effects in Rollercoaster Rush are fabulous, and the developer has managed to get that fear-inducing roar of the metal tracks just right.

This free edition of Rollercoaster Rush features seven tracks to tackle and you need to ensure that you pass through each without falling off to progress to the next.

Unfortunately Rollercoaster Rush was not the white-knuckle, thrill-a-minute game I was anticipating. After the first couple of levels I was very impressed, but the action quickly become repetitive. Even though new obstacles, loops and jumps are added with every new level, there's no getting away from the fact that all you're doing is pressing either accelerate or brake the whole time. Perhaps if there were the ability to use tilt the iPhone to control the rollercoaster and do more tricks then the game would be better.
